2019-2020 PTA Executive Board Members
PTA Board Members 2019-2020
President: Carrie Hanna email@example.com
The Hanna family is starting our 2nd full year here at Little River. I got involved in the PTA last year as a way to be involved with my children's education because I believe in our children. Through working with the PTA last year I have made a lot of new friends, met a lot of great members of the South Riding community, and helped the PTA raise more money than it's ever raised before. I enjoyed helping out our school because I believe in our children. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's of the Arts. We've lived in VA for 10 years. I work part time as a photographer and a fundraiser for other non-profit organizations.
VP of Events: Meredith Tomasulo firstname.lastname@example.org
Hello My name is Meredith Tomasulo and I am the VP events. I graduated from Lynchburg College and was an event planner for 13 years, I currently work for Origami Owl Custom Jewelry and I’m a Junior GS Troop Leader. We moved here from the Philly ‘burbs in January of 2017 and I have tried to jump right in and get involved. I loved planning new and different events for the kids last year and can't wait to do it again. I have a 4th grader Vanessa and 5th grader Gavin. I enjoy seeing the kids excited about school activities and really love the community spirit I feel at Little River. My goal for next year is to continue to plan exciting events that engage all of the school community. I want to help bridge communication between the school families and the PTA and get more people involved. Hope to see you at the next event.
VP of Fundraising: Michelle Wood email@example.com
This is the start of our fourth year at Little River for the Wood family! We have lived in South Riding for over 10 years, this is where we started our family. We have a rising third grader and a rising first grader. I love being a part of my children's educational experience, volunteering in their classrooms, running the Book Club program, and being a room parent. I have volunteered with several committees in the past few years and enjoy meeting and connecting with other parents. I have a Bachelor's of Social Work degree from Evangel University. I'm excited to continue working with the PTA in a new way as VP of Fundraising.
Treasurer: Mike Fitzgerald firstname.lastname@example.org
Our family has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Little River family since moving here in September 2018. Our oldest son will be a first grader for the 2019-2020 school year and with three younger siblings we are looking forward to many more years as Eagles to come. Our family has a passion for education and has welcomed the opportunity to get to know the teachers, the kids, and families through the various volunteering opportunities and the wonderful events and programs that are supported by the PTA. I am very excited to be part of such an amazing group and look forward to serving our school this upcoming year. I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors in Accounting and Finance. I am currently a licensed CPA in the state of Virginia with both audit and financial advisory experience and currently serve as a Director in a management consulting firm as well as on the Board of a local non-profit focused on serving individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities and mental health needs.

All three of my kiddos now attend Little River. With them in school, I have more time to support the PTA and volunteer in each of their classrooms. We are a military family and moved to South Riding in August of 2017. This is the third state and fourth Elementary school my oldest has been enrolled in. I have been active on all of the PTA/ PTOs- counting box tops, taking on the duties of class mom, organizing book fairs, and coordinating School Spirit days. I have really enjoyed volunteering in the classrooms to support their teachers and get to know the kids and families within our new communities. I have my master’s degree in Psychology and worked as the Director of Training for a company in New York City before starting my family. I look forward to serving the PTA and Little River Elementary.
Volunteer Coordinator: Kati Ashley firstname.lastname@example.org
We are an Army family and just moved to South Riding last October. I’m a stay at home mom to 4 kids (pre-k, 2nd, 3rd and 8th.) I was active in our five previous schools PTA’s and helped in classrooms when ever possible. We’ve also been very active in all the different communities we’ve been a part of. Now that all mine are getting older and our lives have slowed down a little, I’m looking forward to serving the families of Little River Elementary.
Please feel free to contact any one of us with any questions/concerns about the PTA.
